Middle Tennessee Golden Retriever Rescue (MTGRR) is a volunteer-operated, non-profit organization dedicated to new beginnings for displaced Golden Retrievers. Our purpose is to facilitate the adoption of displaced and unwanted Golden Retrievers; to provide a good quality of life for homeless Goldens; to reduce the abuse and neglect of unwanted Golden Retrievers through rehabilitation and adoption, and to seek to reduce the number of unwanted Goldens. Further, we provide public education by means of brochures, a newsletter and canine education events about responsible pet ownership and the Golden Retriever breed.
MTGRR is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization.

Featured Success Story -BUDDY NELSON

Buddy was surrendered to MTGRR by his family who wasn't able to fully housetrain him. His issue was that he didn't like to go outside when it was raining (and would only go if on leash). His owners thought the solution was to find him a home where he'd be outside all the time, but it seemed to MTGRR that he was indicating that he enjoyed being inside more than anything.

That realization combined with many other factors of his wonderful personality made him a candidate for placement as a permanent resident at the VA hospital in Murfreesboro!

In 2011, Buddy Nelson was groomed by MTGRR to be a companion dog for the alzheimers/dementia ward at the VA hospital in Murfreesboro. In November of 2011 he became a permanent resident of the VA hospital in Murfreesboro.

Buddy has been doing good work at the VA hospital ever since, and in 2013 the residents threw Buddy a big bash to celebrate his 6th birthday!

MOM ROSIE HAS GIVEN BIRTH TO SEVEN SUPER SWEET PUPS!

MTGRR picked up Rosie from the Sumner County shelter after they found her as a stray. She was very pregnant when we brought her into the program, and we knew the pups would come in 1-4 days. A couple of days later, Rosie gave birth to her lucky 7!

We know Rosie is Golden with a beautiful red coat, but we are not sure what breed the pups have mixed in them. Simply by the colors, they could be Golden/Lab mixes, as there is one brown (chocolate) pup, 2 black pups, and 4 yellow pups. Mom Rosie is very proud!

In any case, they are super adorable and before you know it they will be ready to be adopted out. So, if you are interested in adopting one of these sweet babies, or Mom Rosie, don't wait until it is too late ... CLICK HERE to get your application in now!
