2010 - Charlie (was Lenny)
Hello Rescue!
I would like to thank you for saving me from the shelter and bringing me into your facilities to find me a good home. Also, I would like to thank you for showing me love and attention when I felt alone and scared. You took me to the Dr. and got me on medicine for these little heartworm larva that I knew were going to make me real sick.
I am so grateful to my foster mommy Lori for showing me all that love. She is just a wonderful mommy. I lay down and think back sometimes about her brushing me and of course playing with all my other doggie friends I had there, it was a lot of fun, and I didn't feel alone anymore! One day after all the snow and ice fell down and had melted away I heard this noise and I recognized what it was, someone was at the door. Mommy Lori answered it and this man was here. Right away I loved the sound of his voice, however I didn't know exactly what this strange man wanted. Lori then wanted ME, I thought to myself "what?" I was confused. I did like this man, I licked him and licked him and licked him!!!
I could sense that he was a gentle man, I could sense that he was not afraid, and I could sense that he was a man of devotion. So when it was time for me to go away with this man I was not afraid. We went many places that day and got LOTS of treats for ME, who is this man and why is he spoiling me?
I soon figure out that he is my new Daddy, my FOREVER Daddy! Later in the day I go for a ride with him, we stop at a building and he goes in without me, I am okay because I trust him I know he is coming back. When he does you will never believe what he has!! A little girl!! A SISTER!! Yes, that's right I have a sister her name is Reagan and she is 5yr. old! When I met her for the first time do you know what I did?? Licked her and licked her and licked her!!! That's how I show my love by licking, and boy did I love this girl, my SISTER!
Later in the day the three of us went for a walk and we stopped at the corner, I was waiting patiently to cross the street. We just stood there and waited and waited, I was confused. Then I see the biggest yellow bumble bee I have ever seen! Oh, wait...my daddy said look Charlie it's the bus. Bus? I thought. It stopped and out stepped a little girl, she came running over to me and wrapped her arms around my neck and gave me a squeeze, I think they call that a hug. This girl was my SISTER, that's right this sisters name is Brooklyn and she is 6yr. old, what?, I get two sisters and a daddy? I was thinking that I am the luckiest dog in the whole world! and then I licked her and licked her and licked her.
Over the next few days we played, went over a few rules, went on walks, and licked a lot. Then all of the sudden one day the door bell rings, ooooo, I was excited.. that means VISITOR. My sissy Brooklyn went straight to the door and let the people in. HMMM I thought. It was two females. I know this because I checked. I could sense that they were at ease, gentle, and excited. I liked them. So I licked them and licked them and licked them. Daddy came into the room and said SIT CHARLIE so I sat like a good boy, cause they always say I am a good boy! Daddy explained to me that this, the one who smells like perfume, is my MOMMY!!
I was super excited she did smell so nice, and knows just where to scratch behind my ears. Then he explained that the other female was my SISTER, that's right another sister, her name is Savannah and she is 11yr. old! She loves me so much. She always lays with me on the floor and pets me and pets me and pets me, I usually fall asleep because it feels so good. My Mommy takes care of me all day while everyone else goes away. I am glad for this because I get time with just my Mommy.
I am a very happy doggie. Thank You Again!
