Buddy is adjusting great at his new home! When we first let him upstairs, he panicked and had no idea what to do with himself. However, he has already improved a lot when upstairs. He seems to be more calm and comfortable in his new home. We still are keeping him on a leash with one of us upstairs for now until he learns to sit or stay and we can trust him not to get into things for his own safety. One of us takes him on a walk in the morning and late afternoon. He is such a joy to walk: he rarely pulls and doesn't even bark or show aggression when he sees other dogs (even when they bark at him!). Everyone in the neighborhood has fallen in love with him and they now call him "Buddy Bear". One of our neighbors has never liked dogs his entire life, but Buddy went right up to him and sat on his feet and he immediately fell in love. Our favorite thing about Buddy is "the puppy jump". Every morning one of us goes downstairs and lets him out of his crate and he proceeds to jump up and down with excitement with two paws at a time. We have him working with a trainer to learn basic commands and he is already doing great. She even thinks he would be a good therapy dog, perhaps when he becomes a little bit older. Thank you so much for giving us Buddy. Not only is he getting my parents more in shape and healthy with those long walks, but he is giving us more love than we ever thought was possible!
