Donations: Items Needed

MTGRR dogs are fostered in private residences until suitable homes are found. This may take days or months. The majority of dogs come to the rescue with nothing, not even a collar. Many dogs have never had a toy, it's so fun to give a dog a bone or toy, their eyes really light up!

STUFF THAT IS NEEDED

Collars - sized medium and large. (Nylon best since they are washable).

Leashes - size foot nylon is ideal, but any leash will do.

Chew bones - Nylabones are very good selection.

Playtoys - balls, stuffed animals, etc.

Dog Crates - Either the hard plastic type that can be used in a vehicle, or the cage type that can be used in a foster home.

Bedding - New, or nearly new dog beds and blankets.

Dog Bowls - new or gently used (and clean).

Grooming tools/products (dog shampoo, towels, combs, brushes).

Dog food - Since we do not have a facility, we do not have the ability to store donations of actual bags/cans of dog food. We can definitely use gift certificates to dog food stores, such as Nashville Pet Products, Petsmart, PetCo, etc. so that dog food can be purchased as needed.

Treats / Biscuits - We can accept unopened boxes of dog treats. Any brand/type are welcome. (Suggestion: Nutro Natural Choice Dog Biscuits are an excellent choice.)

eBay Items - Each year, MGTRR holds an auction and sells donated items to raise funds. eBay publishes a report monthly of its hottest selling items, which usually includes: antiques/collectibles, baby stuff, audio books, tools, electronics, and crafts.

Donations to cover vet bills and monthly heartworm preventative treatments - If you make a cash donation, be assured that it is used directly and specifically for the care of rescued dogs. Nearly every penny that MTGRR receives is spent on vet bills and meds. The only time we use money for anything else is if the donor specifically earmarks the funds for such a purpose (e.g. paying our website hosting fee). Since we don't have a facility, we have hardly any other expenses, apart from vet bills. If you would prefer to make a payment directly to our vet, vs. writing a check to the rescue, please Contact Us to make arrangements.

All donations made to MTGRR are tax deductible per standard IRS guidelines.
