Dogs in Rehab/Hospice

Thank you for visiting the MTGRR website and taking to learn more about Golden Retrievers in need. The following dogs have been accepted into the rescue program, but are not yet ready for adoption because they are still under veterinary care. These dogs are in foster homes and being lovingly cared for.

Some folks aren't in a position to foster but really want to help in a meaningful way. You can make an impact for a specific dog by sponsoring him/her. Donations are tax-deductible. If you would like to sponsor a particular dog, please indicate the dog's name on your check or PayPal payment.

Sponsoring a Golden Retriever helps in many ways -- it helps provide needed veterinary medical care, medications, spays and neuters, and heartworm treatments. Sponsors are also urgently needed for temporary boarding. We only have a few foster homes and they are almost always full, so having a spot for a dog from the shelter often means the difference between life and death.

MTGRR is an all volunteer effort, and the organization pays all expenses for all the dogs until they are adopted to forever homes.

If you have additional questions, please Contact Us.

Dogs in Long-Term Foster

MTGRR works to save all Golden Retrievers possible to save. The organization will not turn its back on a Golden because it is sick or elderly. As a true no-kill rescue, MTGRR will provide for the health and well-being of a Golden for as long as it is necessary; even if the Golden is never adopted.

Some of our wonderful fosters have offered to be long term fosters homes for MTGRR Goldens that are not easily adoptable. These homes have a particular love for Goldens, and are able to provide all the love, attention, and hospice care a senior or ailing Golden needs. These special needs dogs tend to have higher veterinary costs. MTGRR covers all costs for medical care, medication, and treatment for permanent foster dogs.

MTGRR is an all volunteer effort, and welcomes your donation or sponsorship of any of our permanent foster dogs.
